SELECTION OF PJ ENGINEERING VISION PROJECTS
CYLINDER HEAD LINE SCAN VISION SYSTEM
A collection of Cognex 4k Line Scan Cameras were used to scan the 6 faces of a cylinder head.

Line scan cameras allow for a very high resolution surface scan with even lighting that is corrected for distortion. By using both direct and indirect lighting different scans were captured to inspect surfaces and threads.

A custom software solution was developed using Cognex Designer and Vision Pro software.

ENGINE BLOCK LINE SCAN ROBOTIC VISION SYSTEM
Two ABB robots were used for this project. One robot was used to photograph the threads of the engine block while a second robot was used to line scan the machined surfaces of the engine block.

A custom software application was developed using Cognex Designer with VisionPro tools.

ENGINE ASSEMBLY PISTON RING AND CONNECTING ROD LINERS INSPECT
Two Cognex Insight cameras were used to inspect the piston ring orientation and the connecting rod bearing liners for each piston.
